He was raised near Appleton and Minocqua, Wisconsin, with ample time outdoors; swimming in lakes, hiking and camping in the words, and skiing on the mountains. Once in college, he searched for people who cared about protecting nature as much as he did. When he couldn’t find that place, he started it himself, and it translated into his current nonprofit, Nature is Nonpartisan, and his book The Conservative Environmentalist.
